DHCD is leading the effort to collect data that will be used for a new statewide broadband availability map. This collection was directed by Section P of Item 115 of Chapter 2, 2021 Acts of Assembly, 2021 Special Session 1.

Pursuant to budget bill language, broadband providers shall be required to submit updated service territory data to the Department annually. Service territory data includes where the provider has actually built out the broadband network infrastructure of the provider such that the provider is able to provide that service; and could provide that service, as determined by identifying where the provider is capable of performing a standard broadband installation.
